Information about the 2017 Spring Season is below.  For more info or questions about the spring season please email Brian Nelson brian@evobball.com or join our mailing list!

  • March 27th – May 21st
  • Note: No Team Evolution over Spring Break, April 10-14

  • Boys and Girls
  • 4th Grade – 8th Grade

Loudoun County:

Practice & Game Format:

  • Practices will be offered Monday – Thursday.  Each player will practice twice a week and you choose what two nights you will practice.  This format is perfect for busy spring schedules and multi-sport athletes!  Practices are designed for individual skill development and understanding of the game.
  • Games will be held on Sunday afternoons at Rock Ridge High School.  Game times are during the 1:30-6:30 time frame.  You will get a game schedule at the beginning of the season so you can plan your life.  Many times players will have the same game time each week!

Why Team Evo?

Skill Building

  • Your child will get a tremendous amount of skills development in Team Evolution.  Our “practices” are focused on player development not running team plays.

Understanding of the game

  • Teaching team concepts through game scenarios to better improve players overall basketball IQ!

Our Coaches

  • No Parent Coaches… Practices and Games will be coached by Evolution’s Professional training staff, local High School coaches, as well as several of Evolution’s current college players! This is a huge advantage to any player and parent who values quality coaching.

Player Development

  • The focus of the league is about development, so practices are primarily working on skill development and understanding of the game.  Games will be an instructional opportunity where coaches can reemphasize what was learned in practice.

Brambleton MS to be a part of Ashburn Youth Basketball:

Brambleton Middle School will open in Fall of 2017.  Some students who currently attend Mercer MS will be rezoned to attend Brambleton MS.  If you child is slated to attend Brambleton Middle School in the Fall of 2017, here is some important information regarding the travel basketball program:

Regarding the youth basketball programs, Brambleton Middle School will be a part of the Ashburn Youth Basketball Program. Loudoun County Travel League rules require that players participating in the travel program must participate in the program which they are attending (or in the attendance zone for private school/home schooled players).  Players interested in the Brambleton Middle School travel team should register with AYBL, and the link to their website is:  http://www.ayblva.org  AYBL's registration opens this week.

House league participants who live in the affected areas will continue to have the choice between AYBL and MLBL.  The house league participation is not directly affected by this rezoning.

Coming soon:  Three new schools to the Dulles South Region!!

In the Fall of 2018, the Mercer-Lunsford Basketball Leage will be welcoming two new schools to our program - the new MS-7 middle school near the Willowsford subdivision on Braddock Road, and the new ES-28 elementary school located on the Champe HS campus.  As we understand it, MS-7 will initially open up serving 8th and 9th graders that will feed into Champe HS.  Eventually, there will be a new High School planned to open in 2020 and another shift in the school boundaries.

The MLBL board will continue to monitor the ever-changing and ever-growing Dulles South schools and will work to keep you informed on any changes that may affect our program.

If you have any questions, you can email us (info@mlblhoops.com)

Reminder, registration for the 2017-18 winter season will open on April 1, 2017.

Thank you!
